I believe that each person has a path they follow and someone bigger than us directs that path. Maybe it not a good thing but maybe it a lesson of each of you have to learn. Sometimes all the words are wasted, sometimes all the hearaches are unbearable but when you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. Pray, put light around them and ask for devine intervention, smile and keep going. Don't burn any bridges and times works wonders.
Words that soak into your heart are whispered....not yelled.

they are getting married in Michigan. I can't be there. I wanted them to wait a few years just to be sure. I am trying to be happy for him. At least he hasn't brought a grandchild first. 
Birdhill, thanks. He just sprang it on me last night right before I posted. I am still a little in shock. He called me selfish because I wanted to be there. He is supposed to call me and let me listen to the ceremony.

No one can blame you for wanting to go.
That is understandable.
Hopefully all will go well.

Well I don't blame you for wanting to be there. I hope they will take lots of pics for you.
Cheri. One of the things I feel real good about is seeing my kids all married and happy. Most got married to young and one had to do it twice to get it right but it makes my heart warm to see them happy and know that we must have done something right because they all seem to be getting it right.
Enjoy your new DIL and embrace her as one of your own. And if a grandchild comes along in the future then you will know it was worth it!!

Well they are marrying for the wrong reasons. If they weren't I would be so happy. But if they should go through it, I will be happy for them.
